5 Best Wreaths To Adorn Your Front Door This Christmas Season

"Christmas is the day that holds all time together."
Alexander Smith

'Tis the Season!   Christmas is here and it is time to deck the halls.  One of the best ways to adorn your home this holiday season is with a pretty wreath hanging on the front door.  Not only is it welcoming to your guests but it is the perfect way to up your curb appeal this December.

There are so many different wreaths in the marketplace to choose from e.g. rustic, modern, glam, and country, you will have no problem finding the right one to adorn your front door.

Wreaths have been used as decor for hundreds of years.   Most wreaths are constructed of evergreen to represent everlasting life brought through Jesus, and the circular shape represents God (no beginning and no end) aka, the circle of life.  By hanging a wreath on the door symbolizes the welcoming of the spirit of Christmas.

Decor Tip:

  • Choose the right size of wreath and garland
  • Leave approx. 6 inches of space on each side of the wreath for a basic look
  • For a dramatic look, choose a larger wreath and leave about 2 inches of space on each side
  • Purchase a wreath/garland hanger to display your wreath
  • Store garland in a durable storage container to maintain their condition for the forthcoming year

5 Unique and Elegant Christmas Tree Decor Ideas

 "Christmas isn't a season, it's a feeling"

                                                                                           Edna Ferber

Decorative Christmas trees have evolved a lot throughout the years, from the basic traditional tree to non-traditional trees such as paper trees, tiny tabletop trees, or wall trees.

These non-traditional trees are becoming more popular as people start to think outside the box and curate their own individual Christmas tree theme.  It is very refreshing to see homes decked out with these unique trees, instead of the same old decorated trees that have been displayed for years.

If you are tired of decorating your abode with a traditional tree and need inspiration why not experiment with a non-traditional tree like the ones below:

How To Successfully Decorate Your Fireplace Mantel for Christmas

"The home is the empire.  There is no peace more delightful than one's own fireplace"
                                                                                                            Marcus Cicero

The fireplace is an important focal point when decorating for the Christmas season.  A grand piece of real estate that you should not ignore.  It might be a little challenging but worth the time and effort.

If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace mantel in your home it would be worth your while to utilize it and show it off.  Below are a few steps you can use to successfully decorate your mantel for Christmas.

Steps To Decorate Your Fireplace Mantel:

  1. Place an anchor piece above the mantel to ground the whole look. (e.g a large mirror or painting).
  2. Use large decorative pieces as small objects will make the mantel seem cluttered.  Usually around 3-5 objects.
  3. Apply symmetry - whatever object you place on the left will be placed on the right.
  4. Decorate with garland or stockings in the same color scheme as your Christmas tree.
  5. Add lights to your finished project if desired.
