What inspires me most when I'm trying to design my own closet are celebrity closets. They are unique, classy and take closets to the next level with one-of-a-kind designs.

A celeb closet usually has certain elements that make them successful such as: pull down rods or pull out shelves, mirrors, paintings, personal photos, an oversized chair, storage inserts and of course, great lighting!

DIY - How to Update Old Furniture With Paint and Fabric

If you have a functional but outdated piece of furniture such as a night table or desk that you don't want to throw out consider revamping it with paint and fabric.

Sometimes we tend to overlook certain vintage furnishings because they are no longer aesthetically pleasing and store them in the garage or guest room. That outdated piece of furniture can be brought back to life with the right paint color and decorative fabric.

Below is a step-by-step guide to transform an outdated console table, desk or cabinet:

Supplies:

sandpaper, primer, paint, fabric, scissors, paintbrush, white glue, white paper, cardboard, razor knife, acrylic medium.

Step 1:

Sand the desired furniture, apply primer and sand again. Then apply paint color and let it dry. Sand and paint one more time. Cut the fabric (with scissors) along the outline of the design and brush a coat of white glue onto the reverse side of cut fabric.

Step 2:

Place the cut fabric onto the white paper (glue side down) and smooth it out. To ensure that the glue dries completely place books on top to flatten the fabric.

Step 3:

Use the razor knife to cut the design from the fabric but make sure your utility table is well protected from the razor knife by placing a piece of cardboard on top of it.

Step 4:

Brush white glue onto the reverse side of the cut out fabric and position it on the furniture. When the design is completely dry seal it with a coat of acrylic medium.

Tip:

The above materials can be purchased from an arts and crafts store. Use alkyd primer and paint for best results.

Give that old piece of furniture life again by updating it with paint and fabric just like the ones above.

How To Make Chicken Lettuce Wrap For A Quick And Nutritious Lunch

Easy Chicken Lettuce Wrap

Here's what you'll need:

6 large leaves of Romaine or iceberg lettuce

1 1/2 lbs. ground chicken

1 red bell pepper

2 carrots shredded

2 tablespoons Teriyaki sauce

1/2 cup soy sauce

3 tablespoons hot water

1 tb. grated fresh ginger

1 tsp. toasted sesame oil

1 tb. green onion

1/2 cup peanut butter

Directions:

Cook and stir ground chicken in a large skillet until the meat is crumbly and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain. Stir red bell pepper into chicken; cook and stir until pepper is slightly softened, approx. 5 more minutes.
Whisk Teriyaki sauce, 1/2 cup soy sauce, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl; pour over chicken mixture. Cook and stir chicken mixture with sauce over low heat until all flavors have blended, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Mash peanut butter with hot water in a small bowl until smooth; stir 3 tablespoons soy sauce into the mixture. Set dipping sauce aside.
Form lettuce leaves into cup shapes and fill with chicken mixture. Top lettuce wraps with shredded carrots, sprinkle with green onion, and a spoonful of peanut dipping sauce.

Nutrition Information:

Lettuce is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and B6, and is low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

How To Decorate A Coastal Inspired Florida Room

A Florida room, or sunroom, is a defined room in a home whose structure is comprised of multiple windows frames. These window frames bring in a great deal of natural light making it an ideal place to read or relax.

My favorite style of Florida room has a coastal theme because whenever I think of Florida homes, the relaxing beach lifestyle comes to mind.

How To Style A Coastal Inspired Florida Room:

Use bench seats for added storage
Add pops of color with nautical pillows and throws
Include a comfy sofa and coffee table
Create an entertainment zone
Focus on the view, i.e furniture placement
Include coastal accents such as driftwood, art, and baskets
Incorporate lamps, area rugs and flowing drapery
Lighting is a must, e.g chandeliers, candles, or lamps

Healthy Recipes: How To Make Delicious and Healthy Vegan Spinach Quiche

This tender dark leafy vegetable contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals including vitamin K, iron, magnesium, fiber and phosphorous. Adding spinach to your diet aids in lowering blood pressure, cancer prevention and bone health.

Vegan Spinach Quiche

Ingredients:

Filling:

1 lb. fresh spinach, washed and shredded

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 large onion, chopped

4 oz. mushrooms, sliced

12 oz. tofu, pressed to remove excess water

1/2 tbsp. dried dill

Fresh parsley

Salt and pepper

2 tbsp. sunflower seeds

Vegan Pastry:

8 oz. whole meal flour

Pinch of salt

4 oz. cold vegan margarine

Instructions:

Pre-heat oven to 375F.

To make the vegan pasty, sift together flour and salt. Use finger tips to rub in the margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add just enough cold water to bind it to a dough, then wrap the dough with cling film and leave in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the spinach in a saucepan in a minimum of water, or steam it, until just soft.

Heat the oil and fry the onion until it begins to soften, then add the mushrooms and cook for a few minutes.

Mash the tofu, to make a thick puree. Add dill, chopped parsley and seasoning. Stir in the mushroom mixture and spinach.

On a floured board roll out the pastry then place onto a medium-sized dish. Pour in the tofu, spinach and mushroom mixture, smooth the top and sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Bake for about half an hour.

Serve immediately.



Add a water feature such as a fountain or bird bath to the outside of your home. Flowing water represents wealth in feng shui.

Incorporate the color purple in your decor. The color purple represents royalty. Add purple accessories such as flowers or pillows.

Another way to attract wealth is by placing an object of wood inside your home, wood is an element of wealth.

Feng shui decorating involves the elements of science, color and furniture placement. Creating a feng shui environment is not complicated just use accessories that you already have in your home such as mirrors, water, and plants and keep that good Chi flowing.

How To Update A Guestroom For The Summer Season

One of the most important aspects of hosting guests is providing them with a tranquil, cozy and comfortable guest room. Even if your guests are only staying a short while, providing a restful oasis is essential for their well being and to ensure that they have a memorable experience. A guest room should be inviting and convey a feeling of ease with a dash of luxury.

If you are planning on hosting this summer and your guest room is in need of a little updating check out these tips below:

Add fresh flowers - they add a pop of color to your decor.
Provide your guests with an alarm clock, reading lamp and a night light.
Place books and magazines on a bedside table or in baskets.
